6G Networks: From AI Integration to Immersive Communication
Hub 350, 350 Legget Dr, Kanata 350 Legget Dr, Kanata๐ก Interested in 6G networks and AI? Looking to network with technical professionals in the wireless industry? Join us for an exciting (and free) lunch and learn with networking opportunities as Professor Jie Gao shares his research on 6G Networks! ๐ He will first explore the vision for 6G networks as envisioned by standardization bodies and industry leaders. Then he will delve into two key aspects of 6G: AI integration and immersive communication. To illustrate his research in these areas, he will present two case studies: (1) edge intelligence-empowered integrated sensing and communication, and (2) user-centric mobile augmented reality. Speaker Biography: Dr.ย Jieย Gao (Senior Member, IEEE) received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. He is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Technology at Carleton University. His research focuses on machine learning for communications and networking, as well as B5G/6G networks. Dr. Gao has served as a Publicity Co-Chair for IEEE VTC2025-Fall and IEEE MetaCom 2023, as well as a Publication Co-Chair for IEEE/ACM IoTDI 2022. He has also co-chaired multiple symposia, tracks, and workshops at leading IEEE conferences, including GLOBECOM, VTC, and INFOCOM.
